Forest Fire Burns 2 Acres Near Butte Falls

Smoke in the air this morning west of White City is from a prescribed burn in grassland near Denman Wildlife Refuge. The prescribed burn is being conducted by the Nature Conservancy.

Late Wednesday, ODF Medford Unit engine crews and the bulldozer encircled a 2-acre timberland fire on private land 2 miles northwest of Butte Falls. Engines and a crew from the Rogue River Siskiyou National Forest assisted with controlling the fire. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
