Brimstone Fire Turned Over to Incident Management Team

The Brimstone Fire is now 1,500-2,000 acres and an Oregon Dept. of Forestry incident management has been called in to take over management of the fire. The fire is one of 24 lightning-fires in a complex on land protected by ODF's Grants Pass Unit. This is the second of the fires to be turned over to an incident management team. Today, a federal team is taking over fire suppression responsibility for the Big Windy Fire, located in the Big Windy Creek drainage 10 miles west of Galice and south of Black Bar in the Rogue River.
