The Bear Camp Road was CLOSED late last evening (July 27th) due to high fire danger.  We do not have any additional information at this time.

Thank you for your patience during this very busy time. It will take some time for the four fire management teams that have been called in to help to get their fire camps set up and operational and to provide you with the most current information.

A Joint Information Center is being set up out of the Grants Pass Interagency Office to provide information on all fires in SW OR, hopefully the center will be fully operational by Monday.

We will publicize when public lines are in place.

Our priority message to you: Firefighter and Public Safety is the #1 priority, particularly given the conditions that we are currently facing in Southwest Oregon.

The general public should be prepared to leave their residence if they live in areas near wildland fires.  Property owners are advised to make preparations ahead of time to be prepared and minimize stress. This includes things like packing non-replaceable items of sentimental value, medications, clothing, etc in your car should you need to leave quickly.  If evacuations are necessary, they will be coordinated by the local sheriff deputies, who are in contact with the fire management teams and fire operations personnel.

PLEASE cooperate with deputies or fire personnel who may be helping with evacuations, for your own personal safety.

Be prepared to be dealing with smoke for some time in the Rogue Valley. More information on that later…
