Besides being a good idea, cutting and maintaining weeds and grass to no more than four inches is required in the City of Ashland. If you own or rent property in the City of Ashland, here’s what you need to do:
- Cut weeds and grass to no more than 4” in height
- Maintain it at 4” throughout fire season
- Applies to your property, parkrows and other right of way areas abutting your property
Weeds and grass are required to be cut no later than June 15. Failure to cut weeds and grass by this date not only costs the city to provide legal notification to property owners or renters, but may also result in citations, abatement and administrative costs. Complaints will only be accepted in writing using the form on our website after June 15.
